After joining university, the word we would hear most is ‘Home’. There’s a saying “school is the second home of students”. As students spend most time of the day in School, which is true and interesting.
It is considered that just like we learn how to speak, enjoy playing , eat lunch, and grow at home, with the help of Our parents or grandparents and siblings, most of us do the same in school but with the Teachers,Classmates, and Friends.
Although the saying might differ for every student because ‘A Building isn’t always Home’. Some students go to school to escape the building of their house and others escape the building of their school by staying at home and very few who desire Freedom of living on their own want to escape both. But at the age when an individual doesn’t know the difference between a building, house or home knows how to make the best out of any place.
The fact remains the same that Home is somewhere a person feels safe like a child that has support, free such as an animal in the wilds, respected, loved, cared, and happy similarly to Plants that grow up to be a beautiful tree if taken care of in the right manner. Hence, the ones who don't get to meet the right teachers, classmates and friends do not find Schools & colleges as their second home but a building that they have to go to unwillingly which results in affecting young minds and growth of an individual.
And after 12 years of this process which is known as Schooling. Some individuals choose to upgrade their ‘second home’ known as college/university and some individuals replace their second home with university, the reason is some students choose their college near home and some far away from their home.
Meanwhile those who choose their university far from their home, may find a ‘second home’ or just find a roof to live under. And that is why choosing a right university is crucial for a student.
In India most Schools, Colleges, and Universities the Education System is quite toxic for all students because it demotivates students that causes self belief, confidence, self growth and impacts emotionally or mentally. The universal truth is that every person is different just like our organs in the body. Now a body functions well when their different organs performs what their purpose is while the organs might also include different functions, like Heart pumps blood to deliver oxygen to every part of the body but also removes carbon dioxide & waste products and Brain regulates everything humans do like walking, talking but also serves as the hub for thoughts, emotions, etc.
Imagine if for the growth of the human we force the Heart & Brain are forced to do something else from what their purpose is and what their functions are. It will be a total mess & chaos, right. So why are different individuals forced & expected to learn for the same purpose and in the same way.
For instance a person is good at Art but is forced & expected to perform well in Math. Does anyone force & expect anyone’s heart to control body movements instead of circulating blood to every part, Obviously No then why are students expected to perform extraordinarily well in every subject, like score 90 marks in every subject when the student can score more than 100 in Sports.
In India students are forced to learn something which is not the same as the purpose of a student’s goal and then wonder why the individual is not performing well.
Hence, This is why Schools and Colleges cannot be considered ‘Real Second Home’ and students miss their home the most after joining university.
